    Jurong 4.5km route

    I completed a run today at a new route I mapped around my place. Tried out this route today and it turns out to be quite scenic, unfortunately, I ran around 6pm and the traffic is quite congested resulting in long wait time at every traffic light. The distance of the run is roughly about 4.88km.

    After trying out this new route, I realise how hard it is to maintain a desired pace. I tried my best to gauge my pace around 7mins/km but after the run, it turns out to be about 6.37mins/km.

    New running route

    I use to run regularly 3 times a week, but due my recent schedule not allowing me to run at my normal time (4-5 pm) I decided to improvise and change my running area from jurong to woodlands. First i need to find a route that is around my normal running distance of 5km as I have stopped running for quite some time now and I don't feel comfortable running my previous distance. Using MapMyRun, I plotted a 4.5km route around woodlands and today i tried running the route. The distance of the route is about 4.47km and I plan to stick to the rule of increasing the mileage by 10% per week until I reach half marathon (21km) standard.

    Generally, the route is quite empty with the occasional bicycle which I have to look out for. The route also only cross 4 traffic junctions (3 lighted 1 not) which are not very crowded so I feel is important as I don't like to run with too much obstructions. After the run today, I feel that the route is generally level with not much gradients involved. I will be sticking to this route for the week and plan another longer route next week for the next phase of my training.

    Jay Chou - Capricorn

    I have been a huge fan of Jay Chou since his "Ye Hui Mei" album and as soon as this album was launched, I went to get a copy of the album. As the norm as all other Jay albums, the initial hearing of the album gives the feeling of music that is below his normal standard. After repeatedly listening to the album for a few times. It turns out that most of the songs are actually very good. The track list is as follows;

    Fish Therapy

    Recently got to know about Fish Therapy after getting a free voucher from my MILK Run goodie bag. Made an appointment and went down to Kampong Fish Therapy at Novena Ville for the free trial. After the 1st free feet therapy session, I quite like the session and went on to pay for the hand therapy session. I even signed up a package for the hand therapy session.

    A couple of weeks later, I brought my GF and her sister and husband to try out the therapy. Took some photos during the session.

    As you can see, the fishes are really enthusiastic about eating our feet. According to the staff at Kampong Fish Therapy, when the fishes bites you, they excrete a type of enzyme that helps alleviate sensitive skin and some skin problems like eczema and psoriasis. The staff there are also really helpful in attending to our needs and questions.

    All in all, the fish therapy is a good experience and all of us feel that we will be back to get our feet eaten again.
